Hope everyone had a great weekend and week - it's so nice to be home and sleep in my own bed.
Took a trip to Simcoe (Turkey Point), Ontario to practice my birds in flight skills during a workshop with Ray Barlow. We had cold, rainy, dark weather so it made shooting birds in flight a challenge - one I wasn't up for. Had to shoot wide open to get any kind of shutter speed and less noise and I was only lucky enough to get a couple of static shots of raptors including this pretty female kestrel. The white at the top is not the sunshine but clouds in between the trees - sigh! We were going to be shooting a Great Grey Owl however a Red-Tailed Hawk swooped down and killed it - very sad - I never really thought about raptors killing raptors.
Manservant and I left Simcoe and headed to Algonquin Provincial Park to photograph the fall colours. We had lovely weather on that trip and the leaves were at peak. No moose or bear sightings although a black bear was ambling down Hwy #60 close to the East Gate on Tuesday.
On catch up!!

Every one and their grandmother must have this shot, camera shutters fired off in unison as the pretty young lady near the buffer came into shot. LOL
In my opinion this was one of the most handsome loco,s that never was to be.
This shot was taken with a Zenith E SLR which I had bought 1 hour earlier at John Dents in Chesterfield and so became the first shot I took with it.I still have the camera and lenses and it still works though the light meter is a bit slow now.
